Weddings

There is no one standard Unitarian Wedding Service. Each service is developed by the couple and the minister to best reflect the couple's beliefs, hopes, and relationship.

Within the constraints of the 'Legal Requirements' the ceremony will be personal and may contain a free choice of music, readings and words of commitment.

We arrange marriages for those who have been married previously and those who may be of different faiths, showing respect to the traditions of both parties.

The best way to get more information about marriage ceremonies at High Pavement Unitarian Chapel is to contact the Minister for an informal discussion.

Relationship Blessings

Unitarians are delighted with the long overdue Civil Partnership law. However, true equality would see religious ceremonies also becoming lawful.

For decades Unitarians have championed gay and lesbian rights and our diverse community has been greatly enriched by our gay and lesbian ministers and members.

For many years Unitarian ministers have celebrated blessings for same-sex couples. These ceremonies are individually arranged to reflect the beliefs and aspirations of the couple.

If you and your partner would like a spiritual but dogma-free ceremony to bless your Civil Union in one of our beautiful chapels, or at a venue of your choice, or would like to talk over the options with our minister, please feel free to make contact. There is no obligation and you will not be pressured.
